Recreational Math — Any Two
169

Every starting hand in hold'em. Any Two deals them one at a time — and remembers every one.

What it is

A widget on your home screen that deals you two cards. Tap it and it deals two more, without opening anything.

There's no game attached — nothing to win, nobody to play against, no chips. It hands you a hand, with a small haptic tap, and then it does it again.

The difference is that it's keeping count. Every hand it has dealt you, filed against the 169 that exist.

The matrix fills in

cold hot

The classic 13×13 grid — pairs down the diagonal, suited above, offsuit below. Cells warm as hands turn up, so the shape of your own luck builds in front of you.

Most people never finish it. Collecting all 169 takes upwards of a thousand deals, and the last few hold out a long time.

And it shows you the drift

A Variance tab compares what you've actually been dealt against what you should have been — which hands are running hot, which are running cold, and how far the whole distribution sits from expected.

Over a hundred deals it's chaos. Over a thousand it flattens out. Watching that happen to your own numbers is a better argument for variance than being told about it.
